Open sessions, intensives, and ensemble labs. We train in devised performance, The Viewpoints, Suzuki Method, and Clown — in Los Angeles and beyond.
A three-hour introduction to the SITI Company's compositional framework for ensemble work. We explore the nine Viewpoints — Tempo, Duration, Kinesthetic Response, Repetition, Shape, Gesture, Architecture, Spatial Relationship, and Topography — through structured exercises and open improvisation.
An afternoon of clown practice built around the performer's relationship to failure, surprise, and the audience. Influenced by Del'Arte International and The Red Bastard, this lab creates a space to take risks in front of witnesses and discover what happens when things don't go as planned.
A two-day intensive in ensemble-based devising practices. Participants will work together to create a short performance piece from scratch using source material provided on day one. No previous experience in devising required — only a willingness to collaborate, fail, and try again.
No prior training required. We work with performers, non-performers, dancers, musicians, writers — anyone who wants to investigate presence and play.
Money should not be a barrier to practice. All workshops offer sliding scale pricing. If you can't afford even the minimum, reach out — we'll figure it out.
These sessions are laboratories, not showcases. What matters is the investigation. Nothing we do here needs to be "good" — it needs to be honest.
A Devised Theatre and Ensemble Based Practices Intensive. Five afternoons of play, risk-taking, and collaborative creation — building the skills to make original work from nothing. Held at Stomping Ground LA.
Year-long training program. Devised two full-length productions. Intensive work in Viewpoints, Suzuki Method, and Clown.
Translated The Viewpoints into Khmer and worked with ten theatre students in ensemble-based practices and devised theatre at a circus school in Battambang Province.
We offer private workshops for companies, schools, and organizations. Customized to your group's needs — ensemble building, devising processes, physical training, or creative development.
We've worked in theatre schools, camps, and community spaces from Oregon to Cambodia. We'll work anywhere.
